How It Works
Together in therapy we’ll explore tools to help you manage your anxiety now, develop skills to reduce your anxiety in the future, and dive deeper into the causes of your anxiety.
Often, anxiety in high achievers is rooted in unhealthy perfectionism and negative beliefs about yourself such as “I’m not good enough.”
Together we’ll process negative beliefs about yourself so you feel less anxious and more grounded.
We’ll explore patterns and behaviors that keep you feeling “stuck” and with this insight you’ll feel empowered to make healthy changes.
We’ll address feelings of shame and insecurity so you can build self-confidence and feel more resilient and self-assured.
By addressing the root causes of your anxiety, you will be able to focus on the present moment, connect more deeply with yourself and others, and finally feel “good enough.”

Frequently Asked Questions
-
My approach is “client centered” so you lead the sessions. Sessions start with me asking what you would like to focus on today and we go from there.
I describe my role as more of a “guide” than a “teacher.” I help create a space where you can explore, process, and learn about yourself in order to bring about healthy change.
My style is collaborative and relational. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is always the most important factor in getting better so I will continually check in regarding how we are working together.

It depends. Some clients find relief after a few months while others are interested in more long term work.
My approach is geared more towards depth-oriented work in which we dive deep into the root causes of your anxiety. This can be a longer process.
Additionally, for some people part of their self care is attending therapy even when they are “doing better” since they enjoy the time to reflect and process.
